This leading-edge book by Esther and Jerry Hicks, who present the teachings of the Non-Physical entity Abraham, will help you understand the emotions that you’ve been experiencing all of your life. Instead of the out-of-control, knee-jerk reactions that most people have to their ever-changing life experience, this work will put those responses into a broader context. You’ll come to understand what emotions are, what each of them means, and how to effectively utilize your new awareness of them.
As you read, you’ll come to appreciate, and make peace with, where you are right now, even though there is so much more that you may desire. Every thought you absorb will bring you to a greater understanding of your own personal value and will show you how to open your own doors to whatever you may wish to be, do, or have. And as you turn the last page of this book, you will very likely find yourself thinking, I have always known this, but now, I know this!
Includes a FREE CD excerpt from a live Art of Allowing Workshop with Abraham!

Books are like food to me. Some types and times call for greedy gobbling, while others request slow nibbling, with ample time in between to digest. The Astonishing Power of Emotions, subtitled “the Teachings of Abraham” is a nibbling book. Although a “seemingly simple” premise, it is channeled with such flowery language, it was slightly difficult to decipher at times.
From the same authors as the Law of Attraction, this book continues sharing the teachings of Abraham, funneled through Esther’s body, on how to transform negative thoughts and being into a positive light. Their primary metaphor has you consider that life is like going in a canoe down a river. How one traditionally thinks about something getting in your way (say a sickness) is likened to floating downstream, but believing the only way to get where you want is by going back upstream; they propose instead adjusting your thoughts to flowing downstream to reach your goals. The latter is certainly easier, buoyed by the current. The rest of the book is short chapters illustrating these examples in specific situations; such as having a cheating partner, discord in a family or losing a job. There is also a handy cd for those who would rather listen than read. I found some worth for myself in this book if I stuck through some of the language, think cognitive-behavioral therapy with a new age slant.
