No One Has to Die Alone offers meaningful insights and practical tools to rise above fear and make a difference in how we face the transition of death, dying, and bereavement.

The experience of caring for a loved one through terminal illness and eventual loss can be incredibly isolating and emotionally overwhelming. No One Has to Die Alone teaches simple and effective ways for people to see death not as a tragedy, but as an opportunity to make a positive difference to the person dying and in the lives of surviving loved ones.

The first half of No One Has to Die Alone focuses on care giving, while the second half focuses on the grieving process. Each chapter is written to stand alone, allowing readers to open to any section and apply that information to their unique challenge. No One Has to Die Alone also includes information about how to compassionately support the unique needs of children through the grieving process.

At the age of thirteen, Lani Leary was unable to process the regret, confusion and loss she experienced after her mother died, and spent the rest of her life learning about the needs of the dying and the bereaved. A self-proclaimed “midwife” to the dying, Leary was able to assist her father in his “final journey” and find peace and meaning in his passing using the tools she shares in this book. Within these pages caregivers will learn how to support their loved one during the process of dying, what to expect, how to cope, and the keys to a gentler grief. And readers will learn how to prepare for their own death so as to live life more fully.
