I highly recommend this book to everyone who is looking for proof of the love and caring of a universal God. George G. Ritchie, Jr., M.D., Author of Return from Tomorrow and My Life After Dying What if it was truly understood that individuals can have real encounters with the Divine, even in this modern world? What might happen to our collective worldview if we suddenly realized that, in truth, there is a caring God very much concerned about each and every one of us? Presented here are personal accounts from people of all ages, races, and religions who have one thing in common an experience with the Divine. Those who experienced loss were comforted. Those who touched death no longer feared it. Those who were ill or broken were somehow healed. The stories in this book suggest that the time may have come for our 21st century world to acknowledge that there is much more to us than a simple physical body. Perhaps the time has come to acknowledge that we are never really alone.

Imagine a talk show featuring people who have talked to and/or seen their God. This book is that talk show on paper. It is groups of short essays by people who met their God (whoever and whatever they find their Divine). All people polled felt this encounter deepening their spirituality, reminded them of faith, reminded them of the goodness in people and the Divine. The essays are arranged into convenient thematic chapters, such as "Visionary Experiences" or "Finding the Divine in Nature." While the stories seem to be written well enough, I found getting through this book challenging. It didn't serve me well to try and read through the whole book in one sitting; I would recommend the "story a day" as a meditation. Nevertheless, there is comfort in hearing so many tales from people who've had life-changing experiences of all kinds with the Divine.
