Thinking outside the box

Have you ever had an "ah-ha moment" when suddenly you understood something important in a new way? More and more people are having them, and many are writing books about them and inspiring the rest of us with their information and insights. Finding the best of these and spreading the word is what NCR is all about.

One book can trigger an awakening that changes a life; and awakened people are powerful.
As Ervin Laszlo said: "A new consciousness can change the world, and a critical mass with the new consciousness will change it."

Why join NCR?

We need you! Our team of reviewers couldn't possibly sift through the tens of thousands of conscious books and films published yearly, but a conscious community of thousands of readers could get close. It's FREE and you'll be in the best company.

How does it work?

Imagine it as a global book expo where you can browse through the categories, search by title, author or keyword, read reviews, listen to interviews with the authors and check out their profiles and events.

When you join you can:

• add your own reviews and comments throughout the site
• create your NCR profile
• share your comments and reviews with friends
  

  

• display your favorite books on your bookshelf
• suggest ones we've missed or add them yourself (coming soon!)
• join discussions and connect with others in the community.

Using the Site

Finding Titles

You can explore our books and films by clicking the categories and subcategories that interest you. You can choose how you want to display the results within a category by clicking the little down arrow next to the box that says "ordering." Use the search box at the top of the page to look for a specific title, author or keyword. There is also an advanced search option to refine the results.

Adding Comments and Reviews

Each title is listed with a synopsis, cover picture, and details on top, followed by any reviews and comments below. Comments and reviews are the heart of NCR, so please leave them as often as possible. You will be asked to rate titles on three criteria: content, style and consciousness. You must be signed in to leave a comment or review, and your reviews will be listed with your profile.

Your Bookshelf

At the top of each title listing, just under the title there is a small button that says, "+ADD". Just click on it to add that title to your Favorites bookshelf, which is displayed on your profile page.

Your Profile

This is where you tell the community about yourself and expand your network, connect with friends, display your bookshelf, share your photos, and more. Just log in and click on "My NCR" next to your name to personalize your profile or edit your details, and choose whether to display your real name or your user name.

Join a Discussion Group or start a new one

When you get a group of people like ours together who think for themselves, the stage is set for a rewarding exchange of ideas. Make sure you're signed in, then go to "Discussion Groups" under COMMUNITY. If you don't find a group you're interested in, start one yourself!

NCR Community

This is where you can browse the community profiles, invite friends and write on their walls, and follow your favorite authors. You will find events, blogs and videos posted separately in the top menu.

Adding Titles

If we missed a book or film that really inspired you - whatever the vintage - PLEASE let us know. We'll post it ASAP so you can leave your comments!

We hope that soon you'll be able to add them to the site yourself.
