If you have been a victim of a sociopath, or suspect you are with someone with a social personality disorder, this book is a must-read. Ms. Anderson tells the gripping story of her marriage to someone who turned out to be capable of unimaginable hurt and destruction, and along the way discovered that men -- and women -- like him are all around us: clever predators who seek out the trusting and benevolent in order to advance their own selfish and hurtful agendas, leaving a trail of ruin in their wake. Donna recounts how she was duped, how she finally woke up and courageously fought back against long odds, and helps us to learn to recognize these vampires who are, frighteningly, all around us. The book is somewhat long and at times uneven, but her willingness to share the most intimate and painful details of her personal journey is part of what makes the book such a compelling read.
