Soulshaping is a powerful memoir about how making different choices in life can change it for the better—if we only listen to our inner voice. Author Jeff Brown is a successful trial-lawyer who unexpectedly abandons his lucrative career in law, surprising everyone with this decision. Driving him toward the unknown is an unexplainable feeling that law was a career he had from a past life, and that it isn’t his true path for this lifetime.
Brown doesn't spare any details as he describes his path and the pain that comes with his decision to take on a new occupation. The book keeps you engaged by the chances the author takes jeopardizing his future. He has three voices that “speak” to him: the warrior, the huckster, and Little Missy. Jeff tries to listen to the right voice to propel him forward to each task at hand. Each voice is useful, but Little Missy is the true guiding voice to point him in the direction he needs.
Jeff meets a woman at a seminar and they fall deeply in love. The relationship soon falls apart, however, which pushes Jeff to the edge of his emotions. He feels angst and confusion as he delves into other professional fields such as bioenergetics. He keeps thinking back to the career path of being a lawyer but just can't make that choice to return.
As he searches for his path, our empathy for him grows and we are surprised by the outcome of his choices. This book offers a good narrative and would be helpful to anyone trying to come to grips with their own life and soul path.
