Dr. Terry L. Wahls, an internal medicine physician, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 2000, but she was determined to get out of her wheelchair. She pored over the research on MS and designed a new treatment that focused on supplying the cells with micronutrients from fresh food so they could have the energy to heal the body. She added a regime of exercise supported with electrical stimulations for the wasted muscles, and within a year was bike-riding. She is currently conducting clinical trials with a variety of patients at her university hospital and getting very positive results.
Her book, Minding My Mitochondria: How I Overcame Secondary Progressive MS and Got Out of My Wheelchair, describes her healing journey and what we all can do to overcome chronic diseases.
