About me

Diane is a Fourth generation shrimper and mother of five turned environmental activist from. She began fishing the bays off Seadrift, Texas at the age of eight. By twenty-four she was a boat captain. After the waters she fished became so polluted by the chemical plants on the bay that she lost her livelihood, she took on three petrochemical giants practically singlehandedly. She survived threats, thugs and jail, and went on to become a feisty activist for the people and the planet. She is a co-founder of Code Pink and has won multiple awards for her passionate fight for social justice.
