Author Ori Hoefmekler clearly knows what he is talking about and does a great job in this book of simplifying what is, in truth, a complex arrangement of interactive factors that sustain biological vitality and fitness. Intuitively and rationally his breakdown of how muscle-building mechanisms, including what and when we eat, how we exercise, chemical interactions, circadian cycles and nutritional protocol make sense. Since he states that each aspect of well-being, without exception, —diet, exercise, timing and combining—is required to achieve the optimal longevity and fitness of which he writes, I would need to have him walk me through a few days of sample fitness “plans” in order for me to be able to adhere to his protocol. I’m not going to remember the background biology to guide me, so this is one instance where I would really benefit from a step-by-step daily guide to implementing all of the rich and useful information offered. Worth reading, but unless you’re a dedicated fitness buff, I suspect that like me you’ll want more specific guidance to actually follow through.
