I have read many books on spiritual enlightenment, energy work, and soul healing, but this is the first book that I have read about using music and sound as a mechanism to shift the vibration of consciousness and to balance the chakras. Chakra Frequencies is co-authored by sound and healing master Jonathan Goldman and his wife Andi Goldman, and they have done a wonderful job of introducing the using the power of sound for readers new to the subject. The book is divided into four parts: basic principles, basic practices, practice with a partner, and other applications, and each section builds on the previous one, so it is easy to understand and follow. This book also comes with an instructional CD, which assists with some of the exercises, and also allows readers to hear the pronunciation of the sacred vowel sounds, seed sounds, and mantras as well as the healing sounds of tuning forks, Tibetan bells and Tibetan singing bowls that can also be used in conjunction with meditation. I found it amazing that vocalizing a specific vowel sound or hearing a sound at a specific vibration can have such a powerful effect on our own energy field. For someone like myself who is new to this practice, Chakra Frequencies provides a nice introduction and explanation to the power and vibration of sound.
