Let me be clear: this isn’t a diet book, this is a book that provides the understanding and tools for removing the toxins from your diet and lifestyle, so that you experience the natural health-giving and psychological benefits that result. What I appreciate about this book is its comprehensive approach to explaining what it means to detox, the author’s thorough look at the daily toxins in our lifestyle and environment, and her short-term and long-term programs for detoxing, which includes recipes for nutritious eating and daily plans. And while there isn’t much new about what’s good and not so good for our health and well-being in this book (although there are a few surprises), author Shazzie covers it all: from skin care products to fluoride, from illness to the Five Tibetan Rituals, from enemas to superfoods, or green juicing to detoxing your mind. If you’re ready to take charge of your well being, or just need a little more inspiration and direction, this book provides everything you’ll need to take that first step, and to continue along a healthful path of awakening and transforming your body, mind, and spirit.
